Overview

If you are pear shaped, then you have a tendency to carry your excess weight in your butt, hips and thighs. You need to up the intensity of your workout as well make major changes to your diet to get rid of those "thunder thighs" fast. Although you can lose the weight in the thighs quickly, it can not happen overnight unless you choose to have a surgery, such as liposuction, performed.

Step 1

Perform aerobic activities that can help you achieve overall weight loss. When you start to drop weight from aerobics, it will occur in all areas of your body, including the thighs. Running, jogging and kickboxing can particularly help target the thighs. If you want to lose the weight in the thighs, spend at least an hour per day working out.

Step 2

Use resistance to get the thigh muscles toned. There are pieces of exercise equipment, like the Thigh Master, that can work your inner thighs by requiring that you push against the weight placed between your legs.

Step 3

Lose weight and tone the outer thigh muscles with ballet plies. To do this exercise, place your feet shoulder width apart and positioned at a 45 degree angle. Lower your body as far as possible by bending your knees and then returning to the starting position. Perform three to four sets of 10 to 15 ballet plies.

Step 4

Work the front of the thighs by doing lunges. You will start with the feet shoulder width apart. While keeping one leg stationery, lunge forward with your other foot while bending your knee. Perform two to three sets of 20 reps while alternating your feet.

Step 5

Watch what you eat. If you want to lose the weight fast in the thighs, you are going to have to alter the way that you eat. Cut out foods high in sugar as well as saturated fat. Try to eat mostly vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, nonfat dairy foods and fruits.
