Laziness is a problem if you want to lose weight. But a few easy steps, including some light exercise, can help you lose the weight you desire. Adjusting your diet and moving your body around a bit can contribute to meeting your weight-loss goals and help with your overall health and well-being. If you are aiming to lose a considerable amount of weight or to get to the weight that suits your body best, consult with your medical or health care professional.

Step 1

Eat five to six small meals a day instead of binging on three large meals. Eating small meals keeps your energy levels high. Keep all your portions small, and consume complex carbohydrates before evening arrives.

Step 2

Eat foods that are high in fiber, which keeps you from overeating unhealthy foods and helps eliminate your need for sugary foods. Eating a small portion of a fiber-rich food such as black beans or an apple can help prevent late-night cravings.

Step 3

Drink water instead of juices or sodas. Mayo Clinic advises that women drink 9 cups of water and men consume at least 13 cups of water daily. Make your water flavorful by adding natural juices from fruits or vegetables, such as lemons, oranges, cucumbers or grapefruit.

Step 4

Stand up, walk or squat while you are on the phone or texting. Stretch, march or run gently in place during a commercial. This enables you to get a little cardiovascular exercise without actually leaving your house. Note that most health organizations, such as the American Heart Association, suggest working up to a minimum of 30 total minutes of exercise per day, three to six days a week.

Step 5

Do easy push-ups, with your knees on the floor. Or do pull ups on a bar. You can also do these exercises during commercials, allowing you to get some strength and resistance training. These exercises can improve your heart function and help keep the blood flowing throughout your body, which is needed when you are lazy.
