The Atkins diet constitutes a popular low-carb eating plan, which can result in quick, easy and safe weight loss. This diet plan is divided into four phases, the induction phase, the ongoing weight loss phase, the pre-maintenance phase and the maintenance phase. Following a low-carb diet is not always easy because most of the convenience snack foods, such as granola and energy bars, usually have a high carb content. Fortunately, the Atkins company now produces bars that can serve as a quick low-carb snack or as an occasional meal replacement.
