The 2000 Electric treadmill is made by Lifestyler. Trimline and Lifestyler are obsolete brands of treadmills. The 2000 Electric was originally produced around 1988. The Lifestyler brand was discontinued in the 1990s and Trimline was discontinued the following decade. You can still purchase replacement parts for both brands of treadmills.
History
Hebb Industries originally manufactured Trimline treadmills. Schwinn, the bicycle maker, acquired Hebb Industries in 1998. Direct Focus, Inc., which was originally Bowflex of America, acquired Schwinn and Trimline in 2000. Direct Focus, Inc. also owns the Nautilus brand of fitness equipment.
The Lifestyler brand was one of the many fitness labels manufactured by Icon Health and Fitness, the world's largest equipment maker. Icon also manufactures equipment under the Weslo, Weider, ProForm and NordicTrack names.
Availability
Both the Trimline and Lifestyler brands have been phased out by their respective makers. However, used machines from both brands are still available on online auction sites, in the classifieds and at garage sales. You can still purchase replacement parts for Trimline treadmills. Icon Health and Fitness sells replacement parts for the Lifestyler 2000 Electric treadmill directly on its website.
Lifestyler 2000 Electric
The Lifestyler 2000 electric treadmill is a basic cardio machine. It does not offer any advanced features, such as built-in programs or a power incline. You can manually adjust the incline by adjusting the knobs on the bottom front of the treadmill. You have to stop your workout and get off the machine to change the incline. Like most Lifestyler treadmills, the 2000 Electric is simple to use. Step on the machine, press the "On" button and start your workout. Decrease or increase the walking belt speed by turning the crank on the console.
Trimline
Trimline treadmills offer more features than Lifestyler machines. According to treadmill-ratings-reviews.com, Trimline treadmills used commercial-quality motors in its residential treadmills. Even older Trimline treadmills have full electronic consoles with speed and incline controls, so you can adjust the incline with the touch of a button while you continue working out. Later models offer built-in workout programs that control the speed and incline settings for you during your workout.
