Tempo 910T Treadmill Review

Tempo Fitness is located in Wisconsin and is part of Johnson Health Tech, one of the largest fitness equipment makers in the world, according to the company's website. The 910T model is a compact fold-away treadmill that may be adequate for walkers, but does not provide enough power or variety for a challenging run.

Dimensions

The Tempo 910T is a compact treadmill at 59 inches long, 27 inches wide and 48 inches tall. It weighs 149 lbs and folds into a vertical position to save space when you're not using it. The running area on the 910T is 16 by 45 inches. Treadmill-ratings-reviews.com cautions individuals to avoid 16-inch belts as they are too narrow to comfortably move on. For walking, the website recommends at least an 18 by 50-inch belt, and for running, a 20 by 54-inch belt. Taller users may need an even longer belt.

Specifications

The 1.25 continuous hp motor in the 910T does not meet treadmill-ratings-reviews.com recommendation for walkers. The website suggests a 2.0 continuous hp motor for walking, a 2.5 hp motor for jogging and a 3.0 hp motor for running. The 910T has a thin 0.6-inch running deck and small 1.6-inch rollers. Large rollers -- at least 2.5 inches in diameter -- reduce tension on the belt, run cooler and reduce wear on the treadmill bearings.

Features

The Tempo 910T offers a speed range from 0 to 10 mph. The ramp inclines up to 1.75 percent. Most treadmills offer inclines up to 10, 12 or 15 percent. The console area includes a cup and accessory holder. A thumb sensor is located on the left-side of the console. Place your thumb on the sensor to check your heart rate. Tempo Fitness warns that the thumb pulse may be inaccurate in low-light environments.

Console

The console features three display windows that show the speed, time, heart rate, distance and calories. Choose from four program modes. The manual mode allows you to start your workout quickly and set a time-based goal. Interval mode offers a series of alternating speed levels. The rolling program mimics walking over hills and the weight loss program is designed to keep you in your optimal fat burning zone. These are all low-tech programs that almost any treadmill would offer.
