Exercise for Weight Lifting

A good, all-over weightlifting routine doesn't require fancy equipment or a gym. Both are nice, but you can do these exercises in at home if you have a simple set of dumbbells and a mirror. Use an increasing amount of weight as you progress with these exercises to get a good, full body workout that works the major muscle groups of your arms and legs.

Tips and Warnings

  • Use a mirror to check your form. For some exercises, such as squats, you may want to turn sideways to the mirror to check your knees and toes.
  • Be careful lifting the dumbbell over your head; use a light weight and work up to a heavier weight to avoid any potential of dropping it on your head.
