A nebulizer is a machine used to convert a liquid medication into a fine mist. If you have a lung condition such as asthma or COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), you can use a nebulizer to inhale your medication directly into your airways using a mouthpiece or mask. There are specific steps on how to set up a nebulizer.
Step 1
Place the air compressor onto a flat surface and connect the tubing to the front part of the compressor.
Step 2
Pour your liquid medication into the nebulizer cup as your doctor directed and place the "T" fitting piece on top of the nebulizer cup.
Step 3
Attach the mouthpiece or mask to the end of the "T" fitting piece. Make sure the connection is snug.
Step 4
Connect the tubing to the medicine cup and make sure that it is securely fastened.
Step 5
Turn on the air compressor and you are ready to use the nebulizer.
