Easy and fun games for physical education are designed to help get your kids active and engaged with other children their own age. While competitive sports are often introduced to kids at a certain age, easy and fun games are ideal for younger kids and children looking to simply have a good time.

This game is designed to improve children's coordination by teaching them how to skip. Grab a bunch of cones and set them up 20 feet apart from each other. Have a kid stand at each cone and wait for your instructions. Start the game by turning on the song "Skip to My Lou." Show the kids how to skip by using the words "step" and "hop." Have the kids step and hop from cone to cone until they cross paths with each other. Once two kids fully cross paths, tell them to link arms and perform a full rotation before continuing on towards the next cone. At any time, yell "freeze!" and stop the music. If a player continues to skip, he is out of the game. The last player standing wins.

Bark Ball

This game is designed to improve speed and hand-eye coordination. Split your class up into two even teams. Have one team stand at one end of a tennis court and the other in the middle of the court -- this team plays defense. Take the tennis net down before starting the game. Give the defense a tennis ball and have them throw the ball towards a player on the other team standing with a tennis racket at center court. After she hits the ball, have her try to run to the end of the court and back without getting tagged. If she does, she gets a point. If she gets tagged, she is out. Players can stay at the other end of the court if they can't make it back in time. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Red Light/Green Light

This game is designed to improve speed and overall ability to focus. Choose a kid in your class to be the stoplight. Have her stand 50 feet or more from the other kids in the class. When she yells "green light," all the kids can start to move towards her. If she yells "red light" and any kids fail to stop, they are out of the game. If all of the kids are out of the game before she is touched, then she wins the game. Otherwise, the first kid to touch her without being kicked out of the game wins.

Flag Tag

This game is designed to improve hand-eye coordination and speed. Give each kid a belt with two flags attached to it, then choose one kid in the group to be "it." On your mark, have the kid chase all of the other kids in an effort to remove both of their flags. If a kid gets both flags taken, then he too becomes "it" and must chase the remaining players. The last kid standing wins.
