NordicTrack makes several models of treadmills and though many of them have similar weight limits, they are not all the same. If you don't want your treadmill deck, walking belt or frame to malfunction, it is best to stick to purchasing and using a treadmill that accommodates a treadmill for your weight.
Treadmill Weight Limits
Treadmills are built to increase fitness and lose weight and many NordicTrack treadmills have attractive features that make workouts easier, more fun and effective. But for many Americans, some treadmills may not be an option for weight loss because of the user weight limits. As many as 34.2 percent of Americans are overweight and 33.8 percent are obese, according to a report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from 2007 and 2008. When selecting a treadmill, consider not just the bells and whistles that attract you but also the weight limit.
NordicTrack Commerical ZS
The Commercial ZS model is a basic treadmill with features like a fan in the console, book holder and the ability to raise the walking deck when no in use. For a basic treadmill, the Commercial ZS has a high weight limit. People up to 350 lbs. can use this treadmill. Children under 12 should not use this or other NordicTrack treadmills.
NordicTrack T 4.0
The NordicTrack T 4.0 has an accessory tray, pulse sensor that measures your heart rate and the iFit interactive workout system. The weight limit for this treadmill is only 250 lbs., giving it one of the lowest limits of NordicTrack treadmills. Even with the low weight limit, the stereo sound system, folding capability and heart rate monitor might make this an attractive machine for most people.
NordicTrack C 2300
The NordicTrack C 2300 has a slightly higher weight limit than the T 4.0. This treadmill accommodates users up to 275 lbs. This treadmill not only has a unique weight limit but other unique features such as an aromatherapy bottle holder, a fan console, water bottle holder and book holder.
NordicTrack T12si
NordicTrack T12si has a middle range weight limit. You can use this treadmill as long as you weigh 300 lbs. or fewer. This treadmill has a Universal Dock for iPod and pulse sensor for heart rate monitoring. Other than these features, the T12si is a basic NordicTrack treadmill that folds and has a power incline.
NordicTrack 9600 and 9600 Incline Trainer
The NordicTrack 9600 and 9600 Incline Trainer treadmills are two NordicTrack treadmills that accommodate people with heavier weights. The main difference is that 9600 inclines up to 15 percent and the Incline Trainer goes up to 30 percent. Each treadmill has a weight limit of 350 lbs. These treadmills not only have a higher weight limit than most NordicTrack treadmills, they come with higher end features such as iFit technology and an optional TV workout console. The iFit.com lets you play CDs as you exercise. You can connect a DVD, VCR or CATV cable to watch television.
