If you have the proverbial "sweet tooth," you're not alone. People crave sweets for emotional and physiological reasons, according to women's health expert, Dr. Christine Northrup. Regardless of the reasons behind your own cravings, there are steps you can take to manage them. In doing so you're likely to improve your health, happiness and energy levels simultaneously.
Tips and Warnings
- Keep healthy foods well-stocked in your kitchen and workplace and keep tempting foods that might inspire cravings out of reach. Make sure you are eating enough. Don't skip meals or snacks. Going more than four or five hours without eating something is likely to cause your blood sugar to drop, inevitably causing intense cravings.
- Seek a professional's approval before partaking in any lifestyle or dietary change.
