Originally from Chicago, Dave Anderson, the founder of Famous Dave's restaurant chain, developed a love for the taste of barbecued ribs early on. After deciding he wanted to make a career of it, for 25 years he purportedly searched the country for the perfect barbecue foods. Over the years, Dave also worked on perfecting his own barbecue sauce. He finally opened his first restaurant in 1994 in Hayward, Wisconsin, and the chain now has over 170 restaurants nationwide.
