According to Penn State University, when you're about to get a cholesterol test, you need to properly prepare. Part of this preparation is to avoid caffeine for 12 hours before your test. Caffeine can lead to variations in your cholesterol screening that may prevent you from getting the most accurate results possible. Still, caffeine is an addiction and thus requires some planning to avoid it successfully.
