How to Skip a Weigh-in at Weight Watchers

The Weight Watchers program features weekly meetings that include a weigh-in to help monitor your progress and keep you accountable to the plan. Holidays, vacations, illness and other life events, however, might cause you to deviate from the plan. Weight Watchers does allow for members to skip a weigh-in if necessary. This will give you a chance to regroup and get back on the plan.

Step 1

Attend your regular weekly meeting and pay your weekly meeting fee. Alternatively, you can present your prepaid monthly pass to the receptionist. Even if you do not weigh in, you still have to pay your weekly dues.

Step 2

Present your "No Weigh-In" pass to the receptionist. This is a reusable pass that can be found in your getting started guide that you received at your very first meeting. If you happen to lose this pass, ask the receptionist for a replacement.

Step 3

Collect your weekly materials from the receptionist, including a new tracker to write down the foods you eat. Continue into the meeting if you plan on staying. If not, return the next week to weigh in. It is a good idea, however, to attend the meetings because they are designed to provide support and encouragement on your weight loss journey. If you had a bad week, that is usually the time that you need support the most.

Step 4

Return the following week to weigh in and monitor your progress. Although the passes can be used multiple times, you must weigh in at least once per month and some locations or centers may have different requirements. Skipping multiple weigh-ins may cause you to lose sight of your goals and progress because you won't know how well you are doing.

Tips and Warnings

  • If you are struggling with the Weight Watcher's program or you have any questions, stay after the meeting to speak with the leader. The leader is there to help you with your journey and encourage you.
