A diet low in sugar and low in carbohydrates is recommended for people diagnosed with a candida infection. Typical American meals and menu plans include large quantities of carbohydrate-rich foods, such as pasta, rice, potatoes and other grains, which are not appropriate for the candida diet. If you need more ideas of meals that are suitable for your diet plan, focus your attention on dishes built around a good source of protein, such as fish, meat, chicken or eggs, accompanied with healthy fats and non-starchy vegetables.

Salad With Steak and Avocado

The consumption of salads and vegetables is encouraged on the candida diet. To turn a salad into a meal, add a protein source and some healthy fats. For example, accompany a serving of leafy greens with a 3-oz. piece of sirloin beef and half an avocado. Prepare a simple dressing with 1/2 tbsp. of extra-virgin olive oil, 1/2 tbsp. of your favorite vinegar, salt and pepper. This menu provides 412 calories, 29.7 g fat, 27.7 g protein, 10.5 g carbohydrates and 6.7 g fiber.

Chicken With Mushroom Sauce

Another quick meal idea appropriate for the candida diet plan includes 4 oz. of chicken breast in 1 tsp. of coconut oil. Meanwhile, cook 1/2 cup of mushrooms until most of their water evaporates and add 2 tbsp. of heavy cream to make a delicious and creamy mushroom sauce. Season to taste and serve on the chicken breast. Accompany your meal with about 1 cup of broccoli cooked in 1 tsp. of coconut oil. This candida meal provides 344 calories, 21.9 g fat, 30.5 g protein, 7.9 g carbohydrates and 2.7 g fiber. Moreover, coconut oil has anti-fungal properties that helps get rid of candida infection more easily.

Veggie Frittata

Another delicious candida diet, low-carb meal is frittata. Heat 1/2 tbsp. coconut oil in a skillet and add half an orange, bell pepper, 1 cup fresh baby spinach, two eggs, 1 oz. diced or grated cheddar cheese and seasonings to taste. Cook at medium temperature and once the bottom is cooked, put in the oven to broil a few minutes. This frittata contains 366 calories, 28.5 g fat, mainly from the healthy yeast-fighting fats of coconut.

Smoked Salmon and Avocado Rolls

Low-carb sushi prepared without rice makes a nice and elegant candida meal. Spread each thin slices of smoked salmon with cream cheese and add a few slices of avocado before rolling tightly. You can also wrap everything in a nori sheet, but make sure you dip them in it a little bit of lukewarm water to prevent cracking. If you use three nori sheets, 3 oz. smoked salmon, 2 tbsp. cream cheese and half of an avocado, you will get a total of 453 calories, 31.7 g fat, 24.8 g protein, 14.1 g carbohydrates and 10.3 g fiber.
