Normal blood pressure is defined by "Foundations of Nursing" as a diastolic pressure of 119 or less and a systolic pressure of 79 or less. Prehypertension is defined as a diastolic pressure of 120 to 139 and a systolic pressure of 80 to 99. A diastolic pressure of 140 or greater and a systolic pressure of 100 or greater is defined as hypertension. According to "Making Plant Medicine," some people with prehypertension and hypertension can reduce their blood pressure with raw apple cider vinegar. Consult your physician prior to using raw apple cider vinegar, or any other supplement, to treat your hypertension.
Step 1
Fill a glass with 1 cup of water.
Step 2
Mix 1 tsp. of raw apple cider vinegar into the water.
Step 3
Drink the water with raw apple cider vinegar. If the flavor is too bitter, try adding some sweetener to the water.
Step 4
Drink 2 cups of water with apple cider vinegar daily for six weeks. If your blood pressure has reduced, continue to drink 2 cups of water with apple cider vinegar daily. However, if your blood pressure has not reduced in this time, "Prescription for Natural Medicine" mentions that raw apple cider vinegar is unlikely to be successful in treating your hypertension and you should explore other treatment options with your physician.
