B Vitamins
The B vitamins are important for the maintenance of energy levels. The B vitamins are a group of eight vitamins, which include thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6), folic acid (B9), cyanocobalamin (B12), pantothenic acid and biotin. They are essential for the breakdown of carbohydrates into glucose, which provides your body with energy. Vitamin D
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that we can obtain from dietary sources or synthesize from the sun. Vitamin D deficiency can have a marked effect on mood, with studies showing that people with low vitamin D levels are far more likely to suffer from depression than those with higher levels, according to the Environmental Illness Resource. Vitamin D is naturally present in milk and certain fish. Getting at least 10 minutes of sunlight to the face, arms or back without sunscreen can also help you to obtain vitamin D. You can purchase vitamin D supplements over the counter at your local pharmacy.
Iron
Iron is responsible for the transport of oxygen throughout the body. When your iron levels are low, you can develop iron deficiency anemia, which often results in fatigue and sleepiness. Iron is naturally present in red meat and dark leafy green vegetables. You can also obtain iron from a multivitamin or in a separate supplement. Some people may find iron supplements to be constipating, so you may want to increase your water intake to help prevent this effect.
