The Best Basketball Shoes to Buy Online

Michael Jordan was known for sky-high dunks from the free-throw line and for consistently clutch performances. Fittingly, during his basketball career and afterward, he elevated the game into a new strata with Nike Air Jordan shoes. Other shoe monoliths, such as Reebok and Adidas, have tried relentlessly to push the bar higher since then.

Nike Air Jordan

The primary reason for Air Jordans being a great shoe to buy online is that it's pretty much the only option at this point. Much to the chagrin of sneakerheads, walking into a local Foot Locker or Finish Line to buy Air Jordan 3s will be a fruitless endeavor. If a current basketball player, such as Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony or Chris Paul, releases an Air Jordan shoe, it will likely be in stores. But the classic Air Jordan models can only be found with luck or with an online hunt.

Adidas

Adidas, which could be an acronym for All Day I Dream About Sports, has become an object of desire for those who dream about shoes all day. However, buying the shoes in a store is a dice roll. Unlike Nike Air Jordans, rarity is not usually a problem. Finding the size and color you want, however, is a different story. This is not the case when shopping online. Adidas' website allows you to choose from a myriad of colors for almost every shoe.

Nike iD

Choosing from a standard color is a thing of the past. Nike iD allows the buyer to get creative and splash his basketball shoes with any color of his choosing. Nike lovers can customize Shox, Zooms or even signature models and have the finished product shipped to their doorsteps. All of this comes at a price, however. Expect your custom shoes to cost at least $150 or more.

Converse Chuck Taylor

The Converse Chuck Taylors are the result of old school meeting new school. If you love the idea of customization, but prefer the feel of a basketball shoe to have less padding and weight, consider Converse's customization option. The selection of shoes that can be customized is much larger and more diverse and will cost you less than half of what a customized pair of Nikes would. However, the caveat is that you'll have to wait at least three to four weeks before you can receive your works of art.
