The Ocean Kayaks company is among the top manufacturers of sit-on-top kayaks, which are popular both for their price and their relative easy of maneuverability. Launched in 1971, Ocean Kayaks' sit-on-top models have proved themselves on the seas, bays, lakes, creeks and just about anywhere someone wants to get out and paddle.
Ocean Kayak Drifter
The Drifter has Ocean Kayak's widest body, as well as one of the highest ratings among fisherman and recreational kayakers, the Paddling.net website reports. Anglers like the large front storage compartment, while casual users are happy with its relative ease of use. The Drifter also earns points for being faster than some might think prior to getting in. New models are said to allow less water in the kayak than slightly older Drifters.
Ocean Kayak Malibu Two
With three molded seats, two adults and a small child (or pet) can fit comfortably in the Malibu Two, a craft Bass Pro Shosp users gave five stars out of five, the company website shows. The Malibu Two is stable, though be warned that you will get wet. Users recommend the scupper stoppers and the seat backs.
Ocean Kayak Torque
The Ocean Kayak Torque has a motor, which can help anglers navigate tight turns on their way to or from their favorite fishing spots. You can also remove the motor and paddle just as you would any other kayak. Retailer Austin Canoe & Kayak notes that the key to these kayaks is having a well-charged battery --- but even if that isn't available, you're still left with a great kayak to paddle.
Ocean Kayak Venus 11
This hard-to-miss pink kayak, designed to support breast cancer research, is marketed to women with a medium-to-large build, "Canoe & Kayak" magazine reports. Ocean Kayak donates 1 percent of all proceeds from Venus 11 sales to the cause. The kayaks are lightweight and easy to handle.
