Ballet is a graceful form of dance that tells a story. What we don't see is behind the scenes and the amount of practice it takes to be that graceful. Ballerinas are among the strongest dancers, with toned muscular calves and thighs, and toes of steel. Whether at a studio or at home, the most important piece of equipment for a ballerina is the ballet stability bar, or barre. This bar helps the dancer to gain balancing skills and stability.
Tips and Warnings
- When checking for wall studs to mount your bar, either use a stud finder or knock lightly until you hear a solid sound instead of hollow.
