A serving of Russell Stover sugar free dark chocolate contains 22 grams of carbohydrates. Despite being somewhat high in carbohydrates, 18 to 19 grams of the carbohydrates come from sucralose. Elmhurst College states, sucralose is over 600 times sweeter than sugar. Also known as Splenda, sucralose is sugar that has been changed so that it can pass through the body without being broken down. This means it is essentially calorie free and will have little effect on blood sugar levels.

Protein needs vary from person to person based on age, gender and activity level. Talk to your doctor to determine if you are meeting your protein needs.
