Kraft Foods provides hundreds of products, from snacks and appetizers to entrees and desserts. The Kraft company offers a number of cheese and dairy products as well, including cheese spreads, string cheese, shredded cheese and blocks of cheese. Their "Natural Cheese" line alone has 17 varieties, with varying nutritional values. Kraft Natural cheese includes classic selections such as cheddar, Colby and Monterey Jack and mozzarella and come in either 8- or 16-ounce packages.

Cheddar

Kraft's mild, medium and sharp cheddar cheeses contain 120 calories, 90 of which are from fat. A 28-gram serving of Kraft cheddar cheese provides 10 g of fat and 6 g of protein. Kraft cheddar also contributes 6 g of saturated fat and 30 milligrams of cholesterol. A serving of Kraft cheddar cheese contains 180 mg of sodium and supplies about 20 percent of the daily recommended value for calcium. Kraft cheddar cheese also contains 6 percent of the daily recommended value for vitamin A, a compound that is largely responsible for healthy vision.

Colby

Kraft's Colby cheese contains slightly fewer calories with 110 per 28-gram serving, 80 calories which are from fat. A serving provides 9 g and 7 g of the nutrients fat and protein, respectively. Kraft Colby cheese has slightly less saturated fat with 5 g, and similar cholesterol with 30 mg. Kraft Colby cheese has the same sodium, calcium and vitamin A values as cheddar. Saturated fat and cholesterol, while needed in small doses, can contribute to cardiovascular disease and should be limited to 16 g and 300 mg a day, respectively, according to the American Heart Association.

Monterey Jack

Kraft Monterey Jack cheese has fewer calories still, with 100 per 28-gram serving and 80 calories from fat. It contains 9 g of fat and 6 g of protein per serving. While Kraft Monterey Jack cheese contains similar cholesterol, calcium and vitamin A values as other cheese varieties, it has slightly more sodium with 190 mg per serving. The American Heart Association recommends limiting sodium intake to less than 1,500 mg daily to prevent cardiovascular disease.

Mozzarella

Kraft mozzarella contains 100 calories, 80 of which are from fat. Mozzarella cheese provides 9 g of fat and 6 g of protein, and has similar cholesterol, sodium, calcium and vitamin A values as the Monetery Jack variety. Kraft also produces a skim mozzarella cheese, which has just 90 calories and 6 g of fat per serving. Skim mozzarella contains 7 g of protein, 3.5 g of saturated fat, 20 mg of cholesterol and 170 mg of sodium.

Dairy Product Guidelines

Kraft cheese can help you meet your daily requirement for the United States Department of Agriculture's milk and dairy group. The USDA recommends getting 3 cups of milk and dairy products each day and striving to consume low-fat varieties such as Kraft's skim mozzarella cheese. Kids aged 2 to 8 should consume only two cups of milk and dairy products each day.
