How to Count Sugar Carbs on a Low Carb Diet

Counting carbs is an essential part of following a low-carb diet. Some diets restrict the amount of carbs allowable for the few several days in the initiation phase of the diet. Dieters are forced to count carbs and restrict intake to pass the first part of the plan. The FDA requires food manufacturers to label nutrients on all packaged items, so counting carbs and the calories associated with the carbs means reading nutrition labels. Additionally, when preparing recipes, the dieter needs to read the ingredient's labels and add up the carbs to accurately monitor intake.
