World's Healthiest Foods claims that plums contain phenols, which are antioxidants that have been shown to neutralize destructive oxygen radicals. These phenols have also been shown to prevent damage to fats in the brain, bloodstream and cell membranes.
Vitamin C
One plum contains 10 percent of the recommended daily amount of vitamin C. According to the American Dietetic Association, vitamin C helps keep gums healthy, aids in iron absorption and helps form connective tissue that holds the body together.

Plums also are a good source of copper, manganese, potassium and vitamin A.
Sugar
A large amount of a plums calorie content comes from sugar. There are 7 grams of sugar in one plum. This is something to be taken into consideration, but should not stop you from eating these healthy fruit.
