The acronym "BMI" stands for "body mass index." This is a fitness testing protocol used by personal trainers and doctors to see where your risks lie for health conditions. It is based off of a relationship of your weight to your height and it can be determined by taking several easy steps.
Tips and Warnings
- Be aware that this is just one health parameter. People that are short and bulky like a bodybuilder, can have a high BMI, but be in great shape. You can also determine your BMI with the standard system with the equation - weight in pounds divided by height in inches squared x 703.
