Denver-based Harrow Sports Inc. makes lacrosse equipment, as well as field hockey, ice hockey and squash gear. Harrow has a long history supporting youth sports, particularly field hockey and lacrosse. In 2010, Harrow became the exclusive manufacturer and vendor for all Colorado Girls Lacrosse Association programs and events.
Advanced I-Beam
Harrow makes a tapered composite lacrosse shaft made of high-grade carbon fiber. The tapered design not only concentrates the strength and flexibility of the shaft up near the head, but the change in width of the shaft can also help young players know exactly where to position their hands during play. The shaft sells for about $90, as of January 2011.
300i
The design of the 300i includes a built-in cap, rubberized finish for better grip, an internal rib feature to reinforce the shaft's strength and stability, and concave edges to provide an even surer grip for younger players. Though they start in price at about $145, as of January 2011, these Harrow shafts are state of the art in design and are made of a carbon graphite material that is strong, lightweight and easy to handle.
Title IX
With a reduced diameter, rubberized grip and straight design, the Harrow Title IX is especially popular among girls. The bright array of colors, that include orange and pink, are also aimed at young girls who may be discovering the sport of lacrosse. Harrow's original Title IX women's lacrosse shaft had a tapered flex point, but this is similar to the newer models in almost every other way. It retails for about $90, as of January 2011.
G2
Because of smaller diameter and lightweight design, the Harrow G2 might be the right fit for young boys and girls who still have some growing to do. The shaft is a basic design made of graphite and Kevlar and the grip is more nonrubberized. These shafts fit most women's lacrosse stick heads and sell for about $45, as of January 2011.
