How to Test Foods for Protein

Proteins are complex molecules that your body uses to help build its structural components, such as your internal organs and muscles. You also need proteins to create and signal hormones, synthesize neurotransmitters and to help keep your immune system healthy. Proteins can be found in the foods we eat. However, it is difficult to know if the foods we are buying actually contain protein. Sometimes food manufacturers claim their products, such as protein bars or breads, have protein.
