While the actual benefit of wearing a weight belt while doing heavy lifting at work is questioned by researchers at the University of New Mexico, some feel that wearing a weight belt at work gives them added protection and strength when lifting and loading heavy boxes, equipment and machinery. If you are required to or have chosen to wear a weight belt at work, putting it on properly before your shift is of utmost importance. If you put it on incorrectly, you may as well not wear one.
