How to Burn Fat Around the Stomach

The Harvard Medical School reports that your waist circumference (the measure of your waistline) is a superior predictor of health problems compared to body mass index (BMI). This is because BMI only indicates your overall body fat. Harvard Medical School further states that excess fat around your waistline causes your glucose (sugar) levels to rise. This increases your risk for developing diabetes. Too much fat around your waistline can also lead to stroke, heart disease, high blood pressure and some forms of cancer. You can burn fat around your waistline and thereby decrease the chances you will develop some of these health problems.
