Although the skateboard features lightweight components, traveling with the board remains a cumbersome endeavor. When embarking on a cross-country skate trip, you may not want to check your board at the airport. To prevent damage to your skateboard, carry it with you on the plane. According to Transworld Skateboarding, companies offer specialized backpacks that have been designed for the safe transportation of your skateboard. These backpacks often feature a series of straps that allow you to secure your skateboard in place.

Step 1

Place your travel items into your carry-on backpack before fastening the skateboard in place. Lay your skateboarding backpack onto a carpeted floor. Unbuckle the carrying straps.

Step 2

Place your skateboard onto the backpack vertically with the grip tape facing down. Fasten the buckle of the top strap under the metallic truck of the skateboard. Connect the buckle of the bottom strap to secure the skateboard to your carry-on backpack.

Step 3

Pull on the ends of the safety straps to hinder the movement of the skateboard. Insert your arms through the shoulder straps of the skateboarding backpack. Utilize the backpack to safely carry the skateboard to your next travel destination.
