The Epic T60, manufactured by Icon Health & Fitness, is an in-home, motorized treadmill. It is available both online and at large department stores and sells for around $1,000 as of January 2011. At this price point, the Epic T60 offers solid specs and a lot of features including an adjustable deck, numerous built-in programming options and a powerful motor.

Specifications

The Epic T60 is 81 inches long, 37 inches wide, 63 inches tall and weighs 256 lbs. It has a 3.0 continuous hp motor, which treadmill-ratings-reviews.com rates as a strong enough motor to support regular running. The deck is 20 by 60 inches and can handle user loads up to 350 lbs. The LED display is 7 inches tall by 10 inches wide.

Design

The Epic T60 is matte black and gray. It folds into a vertical position to save floor space when you're not using it. Transport wheels on the front allow you to roll it to a storage area if desired. The T60 features an adjustable cushioning system in the running deck. You slide a small handle, located on each side of the deck, to increase or decrease the firmness of the walking platform. The console has a large accessory tray and cup holder.

Features

The Epic T60 supports speeds up to 12 mph and an incline up to 12 percent. Quick-set speed buttons on the console allow you to set your speed with the touch of a button. Hand-grip pulse sensors are located on the inner hand rails, although you can also use an optional chest sensor to check your heart rate. The console provides instant feedback about your workout, including elapsed time, distance, calories, pace and speed.

Programs

The Epic T60 has 10 built-in profile programs that automatically adjust the incline and speed settings. Two heart rate control programs adjust the intensity of your workout to keep your heart rate in a predetermined zone. The console also offers iFit.com interactive technology, which allows you to connect the T60 to your CD player or VCR. You can purchase workout CDs separately that feature a virtual personal trainer guiding you through your workout while the program automatically controls the speed and incline of the treadmill.
