Foldaway exercise bikes offer you a convenient way of getting your cardiovascular workout at home. You can achieve your fitness goals without the need for a special room to store exercise equipment, as you can temporarily assemble and use your foldaway bike anywhere in your house or office. A foldaway bike may seem like an investment at first, but it can save you money in the long run by eliminating the monthly expense of a gym membership and reducing your gas costs as you cut out the need to commute for exercise.

Space Advantage

Foldaway bikes can offer the same stability and comfort of traditional stationary bikes, but feature the advantage of being able to be stored away when not in use. This is especially useful if you live in a small apartment or want to use your foldaway bike in a multi-use space, such as your family room or office. You will need a specific place to store your bike once it is folded, so you should measure the space you intend to use and choose a foldaway bike that matches your needs. Some bikes fold away into a square, where others fold away in a rectangular shape that can be longer in height or length, depending on the brand. These prove convenient if you intend to store your foldaway bike under your bed.

Weight Advantage

Stationary bikes are heavy and meant to be kept in once place. Foldaway bikes on the other hand are meant to be moved around and are therefore much lighter. Many come with handles to make it easier to transport them, which is valuable if you have knee injuries or back problems that prevent you from lifting big or heavy objects.

Upright Folding Exercise Bike

An upright foldaway exercise bike has a traditional frame that requires you to sit up straight or lean forward to pedal. Using an upright bike allows you to simulate racing or going up steep hills if you increase the resistance. This style of foldaway exercise bike allows you to stand up on the pedals to gain momentum.

Recumbent Folding Exercise Bike

A recumbent foldaway exercise bike is bigger than an upright bike, as it provides a back rest and a larger seat. You will not be able to stand up on the pedals, but the design of this bike is well-suited for individuals with lower back pain. As you exercise in a recumbent bike, you can read a book or magazine more easily than on an upright bike where you are holding on to the handlebars. You will need a bigger storage space for this bike.
