Arranging a golf cart bag is relatively simple and provides easy access to golf clubs and golf equipment throughout the round. This process is routine for the experience golfer, but beginners and intermediate golfers can always use a refresher on the proper way to organize golf equipment. Several compartments are in the cart bag, including club dividers, that make organization an easy chore. The ease of access provided to your golf clubs is worth the investment of time and effort before the round.
Arrange Golf Cart Bag
Step 1
Place the woods in the back of the bag. These are the longest clubs and you want easy access to them throughout the rounds.
Step 2
Arrange the irons in the middle club dividers. The irons should work their way from the 3-iron on the left side down to the 9-iron on the right.
Step 3
Place the wedges in the front. Since 70 percent of your shots on the course come from 100 yards and in, you want to be able to access these very easily.
Step 4
Insert your putter into the back row with your woods. Since your woods have head covers, this will help protect the putter head and shaft in case it bounces around.
Step 5
Fill the ball pocket with golf balls and the tee pocket with golf tees. These are located on the front of the cart bag, so this equipment is easily accessible throughout the round.
Step 6
Place any extra clothing, rain gear and equipment for cold weather in the large pocket on the right side of the bag. When full, the pocket should stick out, making for easy access even when strapped onto the golf cart.
Step 7
Put the cart bag onto the golf cart, with the back of the bag and the pocket of woods closest to the driver seat.
Step 8
Strap the bag onto the cart by threading the strap through the carrying handle on the front of the bag. This will secure the bag onto the cart and keep it steady on hills and over bumps. You are now ready to enjoy a round of golf.
Tips and Warnings
- Make sure to pull the bag strap tight across the bag through the handle.
- Golf bag manufacturers will not be liable for any damage caused from a bag not properly strapped to the cart. Take time and care before the round to ensure this doesn't happen.
