A trampoline provides an enjoyable way to reap the benefits of both exercise and outdoor exposure to fresh air and sunshine. Increase the excitement and energy level when you invite a group to join you on the trampoline. Keep the good times rolling (or jumping) with a combination of trampoline tricks and games.

Memory Tricks

Have all the players sit around the perimeter of the trampoline. The first player goes to the middle of the trampoline and performs a trick such as hopping on one foot or spinning in the air. All tricks should be at the ability level of all players. The next player repeats the trick of the first player and then adds one of her own. The third child does both preceding tricks and adds a third. Play continues as each child increases the amount of tricks. Players who forget a trick or do them in the wrong order are out.

Protect the Castle

For this game you will need several players and several soft, foam-type balls. Divide players so half of them are inside and the other half are outside the castle (trampoline). Give the balls to the outside players, who will use them to attack the castle. The attacking players must quickly throw the balls into the castle and the defending players must toss them back out just as quickly. The outside team wins if they manage to get all of the balls into the castle at the same time. The inside team wins if they land all of the balls outside at the same time. If after a designated time limit neither team has won, the balls are to be counted and the team with the least on their side wins.

Pillow Fight

Divide players into two teams. Give each player a pillow. Have the teams gather outside of the trampoline. One player from each team goes inside the trampoline to battle. The first player to fall from a pillow blow loses the battle and surrenders his pillow to the opposing team. Two new players enter the trampoline and battle for their opponent’s pillow. The team to collect all of the pillows wins.

No Dropsies

Players gather in a circle and begin to jump on the trampoline. A soft, foam ball is tossed among the players. Players must catch the ball and continue to pass it around the circle. When a player drops the ball, misses a catch or stops jumping, she is out of the game. Play continues until only one player remains.

P-I-G

Players line up on the ground. The first player heads to the middle of the trampoline and does a trick. The next player in line then has to perform the same trick. If the second player successfully repeats the trick, the third player must now do the same. Play continues until one player fails to perform the trick. That player receives a “P” and a new trick is performed by the next player in line. If all players perform the trick correctly, a new trick is decided by the second player in line. Each time a player misses a trick, he receives one of the letters that spell the word “pig.” Once a player misses three times, he completes the word “pig” and is out of the game. The last player to remain is the winner.
