NBA basketball player Allen Iverson spent most of his 14 years with the Philadelphia 76ers. As of January 2011, Iverson plays in the Turkish Basketball League. Iverson uses his signature crossover move to fake his opponent to go the wrong way so he can get around him to the basket. You have to execute the Allen Iverson crossover quickly or it won't be effective.

Step 1

Start with the ball in your non-dominant hand. If you are right-handed, start with the ball in your left hand.

Step 2

Approach your opponent in a crouch while dribbling lightly.

Step 3

Bounce the ball hard to get it high into the air on your left side and push with your right leg as if you are going to drive to the left.

Step 4

Land on your left foot and explosively push back off it to the right. As you move to the right, bounce the ball in front of you from your left to right hand.

Step 5

Land on your right foot and push off it again to propel your body forward past your opponent. Stay as low as possible.

Tips and Warnings

  • You can use eye, head and shoulder movements to fake out your opponent. As you initially transfer your weight to the left, move your head or eyes in that direction to convince your opponent that is the direction you're headed.
  • This move requires practice and patience. Start slow and focus on learning the movements before worrying about the speed.
