How to Cure Anxiety With Kava Tea Drops

Kava kava is an herb native to the South Pacific that is a member of the pepper family. It is usually prepared as a cool drink by grinding the roots and adding water. Herbalists use the herb to help fight fatigue, treat asthma and relieve anxiety. Common signs of anxiety include weakness, general apprehensiveness, sweating and rapid breathing. According to David Rakel, author of "Integrative Medicine," you can take kava kava as a standardized extract to relieve anxiety symptoms. Always talk to your doctor before starting any alternative treatment.

Step 1

Purchase a standardized liquid extract of kava kava at your local health food store. Each serving of kava kava, which is 30 drops, should provide 500 mg of the herb.

Step 2

Prepare any variety of your favorite tea and pour it into a cup.

Step 3

Add a full dosage, which is 30 drops, of kava kava to your tea. Drink immediately. You may take up to three dosages a day of kava kava extract to help relieve any anxiety symptoms.
