P90X is an exercise program produced by personal trainer Tony Horton. Designed to produce significant changes in your fitness level and body composition in 90 days, it is supposed to be used together with specially designed supplements. Although the makers of P90X encourage the use of their own supplements, many similar nutritional supplements may produce the same results. Consult a medical professional before using any supplements.

Peak Recovery

The P90X Peak Recovery supplement is intended for use after workouts. This supplement contains 220 calories, with 39 g of carbohydrates and 10 g of protein. Many weight gain supplements have a similar 4:1 profile of carbohydrates to protein, such as Healthy 'N Fit Creatine Mass 10,000, which contains 39.1 g of carbohydrates, 10 g of protein and 202 calories per scoop.

Peak Performance Protein Bar

The P90X Peak Performance Protein bar is an on-the-go bar that can be used as a snack or a small meal. This bar contains 260 calories, with 7 g of fat, 31 g of carbohydrates and 20 g of protein. Many protein bars are similar to this profile, such as the Clif Builder's Bar, which contains 8 g of fat, 31 g of carbohydrates and 20 g of protein.

Meal Replacement Drink

The P90X Meal Replacement drink is a low-calorie, protein-rich powdered mix, lower in carbohydrates and calories than the Peak Recovery drink. This drink contains 140 calories, 2 g of fat, 15 g of carbohydrates and 15 g of protein. A product similar to this supplement is Myogenix After Shock, which contains a similar ratio of carbohydrates and protein; 1/2 serving of this supplement contains 140 calories, .5 g of fat, 15 g of carbohydrates and17 g of protein.

Whey Protein Powder

Although the makers of P90X recommend the use of their brand of whey protein, there are countless whey protein powders on the market. However, most whey products are lower in carbohydrates than the P90X whey, which offers 110 calories, 2 g of fat, 5 g of carbohydrates and 18 g of protein. A similar whey protein product is Optimum Nutrition's 100% Whey Gold Standard, which provides 120 calories, 1 g of fat, 3 g of carbohydrates and 24 g of protein per serving.
