Symptoms
RA can affect different parts of the body, and you may not experience all symptoms at once. Some common symptoms of RA can include swelling, pain, stiffness and inflammation in the joint area. In addition, your affected joint may become red and warm to the touch.

Turmeric is a member of the ginger family and is commonly used to aid in digestion, regulate menstruation and relieve arthritis pain by reducing inflammation. In addition, curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric contains antioxidant properties. Turmeric is available in the form of capsules, tincture and fluid extract. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, the recommended adult dosage of dried powdered root is 1 to 3g per day. The recommended dosage of the fluid extract is up to 90 drops per day.
Celery Seed
Celery seed has been used for many years to treat colds, the flu, water retention and certain liver conditions. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, celery seed may reduce inflammation associated with arthritis and gout as well as calm nerves and reduce muscle spasms. However, the university states that celery seed has not been studied on humans to determine its effectiveness in treating these conditions. Celery seed tablets or capsules may be taken in doses of one to two capsules or tablets up to three times per day or as directed by your doctor.
Black Cohosh
Black cohosh is an herb that is commonly used by women to treat menopausal symptoms. However, it is also used to treat arthritis. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, black cohosh may aid in reducing inflammation associated with RA and osteoarthritis. Black cohosh may be taken in doses of up to 80mg standardized black cohosh tablets containing 1mg of 27-deoxyactein, according to the university.
