Homemade Hamstring Wrap

Your hamstring makes up a majority of your rear thighs and suffer lots of wear and tear. Injury to the hamstring can be painful. Treating a hamstring injury requires the use of a hamstring wrap, but most of us may not have one handy. Making a hamstring wrap is simple and convenient in many cases.

Step 1

Sit in a chair with your leg propped and bent slightly. Wrap a piece of elastic, measured and cut to your leg size, around your leg starting at mid-thigh and working your way down to the middle of your calf. Make sure you wrap it firmly but not too tight avoiding cutting off blood circulation.

Step 2

Use medical tape or duct tape to secure the elastic. Tape the elastic at the end of your wrapping and a band of tape in the middle of the elastic wrapping.

Step 3

Repeat step one with another length of elastic and securely tape it as in step two.

Step 4

Cut a piece of breathable fabric such as cotton or use an Ace bandage and wrap it around the elastic, again making sure you do not wrap it too tight.

Step 5

Fasten the fabric securely. If using fabric you pre-cut then secure with medical tape or duct tape on the end of your wrapping. If you would like, to give added security, tape in the middle as with the elastic, but not too tight.

Things You'll Need
