Available by prescription only, phentermine is accompanied by a variety of side effects, which you should consider before taking.

Common Side Effects

According to the experts at eMedTV.com, the most common side effects associated with phentermine include feelings of euphoria, dry mouth, insomnia, hyperactivity, an unpleasant taste in the mouth, constipation, dizziness, dysphoria (unusual unpleasant feelings), restlessness and diarrhea.

Serious Side Effects

The following are a list of side effects you should report to your doctor immediately if you begin to experience them. They include but are not limited to high blood pressure and a rapid heart. Additionally, you may experience symptoms of pulmonary hypertension, which may be life-threatening.
