How to Cleanse Body Juices

Over time, toxins from air, food and drinks build up in the body, and these toxins can be unhealthy, leading to low energy levels and a higher vulnerability to diseases. Some people cleanse their bodies with a detoxification program, such as juice fasting, in which users consume nothing but fresh juices and water for a certain amount of time. Afterward, many people feel rejuvenated and recharged.

Step 1

Prepare your body for detoxification by limiting consumption of coffee, alcohol, salt, sugar and meat to ease the side effects that occur during the initial stages of detox.

Step 2

Purchase a juicer and produce. In order to receive the full benefits of juice fasting, patients should use fresh fruits and vegetables and a high-quality juicer to obtain the juice used during the fast. Fresh juice contains high amounts of enzymes, vitamins and minerals.

Step 3

Decide on the length of the juice fast. Some try a three-day fast to experience the side effects and to learn what to expect from a longer fast.

Step 4

Drink plenty of water. Patients should supplement their juice diet with plenty of water to flush out the toxins and to maintain proper hydration. When fasting, it is important to drink at least eight glasses of water a day, in addition to at least 32 ounces of juice.

Step 5

Limit activity. While fasting, patients should rest and limit their activity until the fast is complete. Many patients will feel fatigued during the fast, which is a common side effect.
