Callaway golf clubs are some of the most popular pieces of equipment with regards to forgiveness and playability. The women's version of Callaway drivers are no different. Callaway moved the center of gravity lower and deeper on its club faces to allow for larger sweet spots and provide more club head speed and power. Callaway currently has four models available for purchase, each with distinctly different features.
Women's Diablo Octane
The Callaway women's Diablo Octane features a lighter club head and forged composite material that generated additional club head speed. This translates into longer distance off the driver. Callaway used a new material and improved on the Diablo Edge model that preceded this. According to performance reviews conducted on Callaway staff players on the PGA Tour, the Diablo Octane delivers eight additional yards against comparable drivers in its class. It retains a high inertia and spring-like effect, and remains legal under the USGA Rules of Golf.
Women's RAZR Hawk
Callaway's women's RAZR Hawk driver has a very aerodynamic head shape and comes with an Adilia graphite shaft for a powerful head and shaft combination. This club cuts through air to launch the ball high and deep. Even for moderate swing speeds, as seen in some of the better lady players, the RAZR Hawk delivers with titanium club face technology. This allows the club face to be stronger, and the weighting to be more evenly distributed.
Women's FT-Iz Driver
Callaway used fusion technology in the FT-Iz Driver to deliver women a club that provides longer, straighter drives. The driver is weighted on the extremities -- the head, toe and deep face -- to provide for less club head twisting and a greater chance of hitting square at impact. The face cup has been chemically milled to provide outstanding durability and feel, and the aerodynamic design is very similar to the RAZR Hawk driver. Playability and forgiveness are not sacrificed with this model.
Women's FT-9
One of Callaway's most popular drivers on the men's side, the Callaway women's FT-9 driver allows female players to have the classic looks along with superior feel and playability. Callaway's main goal with this driver was to generate more ball speed off the club face, providing golfers with greater distance and shot making capabilities. There is also a movable weighting system which allows golfers to choose their preferred shot shape and make adjustments accordingly.
