Razzoo's Cajun Café is a Cajun-style restaurant originally from New Orleans that has numerous locations across the country. If you're currently watching your caloric intake, this style of food may not be your best option due to high sodium, calories and fat.

However, a few dishes offered at Razzoo's still fall under the 800-calorie mark, some of which include little to no fat.

According to the Baylor College of Medicine, the human adult only needs approximately 1,600 calories a day to perform normal processes. As you can see, eating either of these two dishes takes up much of that recommended daily allowance.

Fat and Carbohydrates

Of these two dishes from Razzoo's, the Chicken Tchoupitoulas, at 70 grams of carbohydrates, contains the higher number of carbohydrates in comparison to the Hell Welder dish, at 51 grams of carbs. The Hell Welder contains peppers, rice, and chicken in a spicy sauce.

However, neither food contains high levels of fat. Carbohydrates may cause weight gain in some people, however are also important to normal body function like brain function and digestion, according to Harvard School of Public Health.

Protein

If you are looking for a source of high protein, Razzoo's may not be the best place to eat. For example, the Chicken Tchoupitoulas dish contains only 19 grams of protein while the Hell Welder dish does not contain any measurable protein.

While other menu options do not have published protein information, choices like steak and chicken should offer a boost in protein content, if you prefer.

Considerations

You can adjust your caloric or carbohydrate intake for most dishes by having certain ingredients removed from your order. Unfortunately, Razzoo's Cajun Café does not currently publish nutritional information on all items of the restaurant's menu, so choosing health-conscious dishes can be difficult. Select a salad as an alternative to other unhealthy food options.
