Easton is a major manufacturer of softball equipment, including bats. Two of the most popular models of softball bats include the Stealth and Synergy, with specific models of each designed for fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball. While the Stealth and Synergy bats have some similarities, each model has specific materials, sizes and features for different ability levels and hitting styles.

Materials

As of 2011, Easton uses Visual Composite Technology for Stealth and Synergy fastpitch bats, but the Synergy is also available in an aluminum model. For slow-pitch softball bats, however, Easton only makes the Stealth and Synergy bats with the patented IMX composite materials. Each model has additional sub-models with varying sizes and features to appeal to different hitting styles, ability levels and league regulations.

Sizes

The Synergy and Stealth softball bats are listed with a specific weight-to-length ratio indicating the difference in the overall bat length and weight. For example, a 30-inch bat weighing 20 oz. is listed as a "-10" weight-to-length ratio. The Synergy fast-pitch bats are available in numerous sizes including -9, -10 and Synergy -11 while the Stealth fast-pitch bats are only available in -9 and -10. The weight-to-length ratios on the Synergy and Stealth softball bats allow them to meet the bat regulations for most major softball organizations such as ASA, USSSA, ISA and ISF.

Features

Both the Synergy and Stealth softball bats contain specific features that set them apart. Stealth softball bats, for example, feature a two-piece ConneXion design and Focus Flex handle technology to increase power by maximizing energy transfer and reducing bat vibration. An additional feature on the Stealth bats includes an "end loaded" design that improves power. Synergy bats, however, feature a one-piece design and ultra-thin tapered handle for optimal control and balance.

Price

All of the composite Stealth and Synergy fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball bats sell for about $320 as of 2011. The Synergy aluminum fast-pitch bat, however, has a lower price of $40. Each Easton softball bat is covered by an exclusive 400-day warranty. During the 400-day period, Easton will repair or replace the Synergy or Stealth softball bat if it has quality or durability defects.
