Bringing a natural, healthy snack to school every day will help your child keep her energy level strong all day. Give your children a wide variety of healthy snacks. This will keep them interested in the snacks. It will also ensure that the snacks provide a wide range of vitamins and minerals. Weaning kids from commercially prepared snacks to natural snacks will help improve their health. Talk to your doctor to get information about snacks appropriate for your child's age.

Celery, Carrots and Dried Fruit

Some healthy snacks to bring to school include celery and carrot sticks, Jicama sticks, grape tomatoes, rice cakes, a tube of yogurt, dried fruit, granola, string cheese and air-popped popcorn, notes WIN, Wellness in Wyoming. Combine several of these snack ideas in a small bag to ensure the snack contains fiber and some vitamin C from fruits. Let your kids participate in packing the snack. This is empowering and makes it more likely your child will eat it.

Raisins, Sunflower Seeds and Strawberries

Some tasty and healthy snack ideas include raisins, pitted prunes, dried pineapple, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, tangerines, strawberries, baby carrots, pepper slices and zucchini pieces. Additional healthy snacks include cottage cheese mixed with fruit, pumpkin bread and a hard-cooked egg, notes Iowa State University, University Extension. Let kids see a variety of these snacks and make their own choices. This often helps them to look forward to and eat the snack.

Oranges, Grapes, Apples and Bananas

The University of Arizona, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences recommends a wide range of healthy snacks, including apple slices with cinnamon, whole grain pita bread filled with banana slices and a dab of honey, oranges, grapes, air-popped popcorn with a dash of parmesan cheese, whole grain crackers and low-fat pudding. These snacks can be combined by using a small bag to put some items together, such as orange slices and grapes, a banana and crackers or an apple and some air-popped popcorn.

Mango, Cranberries and Soy Nuts

Keep your child energized for learning at school by creating nutritious snacks. Some healthy snack ideas from MayoClinic.com include fruit kebabs, whole grain pretzels, bananas with peanut butter, mango slices, cranberries and roasted soy nuts. Check to see if peanut butter is allowed in your child's school.
