How to Lose Weight Fast & without Pills

When most people embark on a weight loss plan, they wish to lose the weight quickly. Some resort to weight loss pills. Unfortunately, pills usually only result in temporary weight loss and can sometimes cause side effects. The best way to lose weight fast is to avoid pills altogether and to adopt a straightforward dietary and fitness program.

Step 1

Plan your meals and snacks so there's no room for temptation at meal time. Come up with a menu that has flexibility, but is rigid enough to keep you on track toward your weight loss goals. For instance, dinner should include a lean meat, vegetables, a whole grain source and perhaps a fruit cup for dessert. Snacks can include anything from crackers to granola bars. Even cottage cheese and fruit makes a delicious and healthy snack. So long as you know what your options are ahead of time, you'll be more likely to make responsible food decisions when your stomach starts growling.

Step 2

Cut out high-calorie beverages from your diet like soda, flavored coffees and alcohol. They contain no nutritional content and add potential pounds to your body.

Step 3

Throw away the junk food in your home. Having chips, cookies and other tasty treats lying around the house will only serve as temptation to cheat on your diet. Throw out high-calorie, fat, cholesterol and sugar foods and opt for healthier snacks instead such as whole pieces of fruit, whole wheat pretzels or crackers and granola bars.

Step 4

Stay well hydrated by drinking at least eight glasses of water everyday. You can even add a bit of lemon or mint to the water to add flavor and to break up the monotony. Water is what keeps your digestive system functioning properly and allows your metabolism to work at maximum capacity.

Step 5

Pick a cardiovascular exercise you enjoy and commit to it. It can be anything from running, jogging or bike riding to swimming, aerobics or playing a sport. Get your heart rate up for 30 minutes everyday. This is good for your overall health, burns calories and allows you to burn fat.
