The Fruit Flush Diet is a three-day detox diet by author Jay Robb. Robb claims that the vital nutrients in fruit help clean out toxins that build up in your body. He also claims that the fiber and water from the fruit help flush out those toxins. The "Fruit Flush 3 Day Detox" claims that eating lean protein, fruits and vegetables for 36 hours pushes your body into fat-burning mode but maintains muscle. Robb claims you can lose up to 10 lbs. on this three day diet but notes that this weight loss may likely be water weight.
Step 1
Blend fresh fruit with whey protein for fresh fruit smoothies on the first day of this diet. Drink a protein shake every two hours for a total of 1,000 total calories.
Step 2
Eat one serving of fresh fruit at 8 a.m. on the second and third mornings of this diet. Continue eating fruit every two hours until 4 p.m. on these days.
Step 3
Eat a large salad, consisting of raw mixed vegetables, 1 to 2 tbsp. of olive or flaxseed oil, half an avocado, and half a lemon or lime at 6 p.m. on your second and third days.
Step 4
Drink a protein shake with your salad on the second and third days.
Step 5
Drink eight to 12 oz. of water exactly one hour after every serving of fruit and your salad and shake meals.
