The diet industry has grown in the wake of a nation obsessed with losing weight. From fads to tried and true methods; from supposed "miracles" to plain 'ol cutting calories, it's all out there. The Hollywood Diet claims to help people lose 5 lbs in 24 hours and 10 lbs in two days. Here are some facts about the Hollywood Diet to help you decide whether it's the right one for you.

History

Jamie Kabler was an over-weight man who was searching for a miracle. After attending a health spa in Europe and losing the weight that had been plaguing him, he wanted to share his success with the world in the form of a program that would help people lose weight without the expense of traveling or spending hours exercising. His Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet was the answer and released to the world in 1997. To date his company has served over 10 million clients.

What Is It?

The Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet is a drink that claims to help people lose weight while detoxifying and rejuvenating their body. Called a "health spa in a bottle" the drink is a combination of natural juices fortified with vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, botanical extracts and essential oils. The 32 ounce bottle of orange colored juice is a delivery system for the nutritive ingredients and has been concocted in such a way as to restore balance to the body at the cellular level.

What It Does

The aim of the Hollywood Diet is to cleanse the body of toxins, a few of the symptoms of which are: headache, depression, body odor, constipation and weight gain. By first ridding your body of external pollutants and unhealthy food choices in which may be contained hormones and pesticides, you will lose 5 to 10 lbs of toxic waste that has accumulated in your colon. To lose weight over and above that lost through the initial colonic cleanse, you may need to repeat the process several times.

Other Products

Riding in the wake of the success of the Hollywood 48 Hour Diet, the company developed a 24 hour version which is a one day juice fast. This version comes in a 16 ounce bottle and can be purchased in economically priced value packs if you decide to pursue this regimen on an ongoing basis. In addition to the drinks, you may purchase the Hollywood Cookie Diet and the 15 Day Detox Body Cleanse.

Warnings

Before starting any diet consult your doctor to see if it's right for you. Your current state of health may not be conducive to fasting.
