The bicycle manufacturer Giant makes folding bikes, in addition to a number of other bicycle types. Giant's folding bike series includes the Clip, ExpressWay and Halfway models. Folding bikes are convenient for normal, everyday commuting, and can be folded in half to save space. This feature could be especially appealing for city living, which often does not provide the conveniences of a garage for storage.
Clip
Giant's Clip model is an 8-speed folding bicycle that features SRAM Shimano components and 20-inch wheels. The model comes in a metallic orange, metallic black and pearl white color finishes. Its folded dimensions are 15 by 35 by 32 inches, or 82 cubic inches. The bicycle also comes equipped with an alloy, single-sided fork, alloy low riser handlebar, a Tektro caliper braking system, anti-slip pedals, adjustable levers and a Giant multi-density saddle.
ExpressWay 1-2011
Giant makes several ExpressWay models, with the 1-2011 being its latest addition for 2011. The bike is made from a lightweight frame that features a simple fold mechanism. The bicycle measures 15 by 31 by 29 inches, or 75 cubic inches, when folded. Giant upgraded its newest ExpressWay model with a rear rack, fenders and an integrated bell. A SRAM 8-speed trigger shifting mechanism and a multi-density saddle have also been added to this model. The 1-2011 is available in a metallic charcoal color finish only.
Halfway
Giant's Halfway folding bike was made with an utility design to run errands around town. The Halfway has 7-speed shifting and weighs only 29 pounds. Folded, the bike measures 32 by 30 by 14 inches, or 72 cubic inches, making it the most compact folding bike Giant offers. A distinct feature of the bike is its single-sided stay system for easy wheel removal. The bike is available in a gloss black color finish only.
Other ExpressWay Models
Giant still makes available previous ExpressWay models, including the ExpressWay 1 and ExpressWay 2. The ExpressWay 1 is available only in a dark silver color finish, while the ExpressWay 2 is available in black and white. All three ExpressWay models have similar folding dimensions and several of the same features as the ExpressWay 1-2011. Extras included with the ExpressWay series are a storage bag and rear carrier with strap.
