How to Get Rid of Genital Warts Using Apple Cider Vinegar

Genital warts, which are highly contagious, are transmitted by sexual contact and caused by the human papillomavirus. Treatments are available to treat the warts, but HPV is not curable. Therefore, even once the warts have subsided, they may reappear in the future. According to "Prescription for Natural Cures," when topically applied daily for four to six weeks, apple cider vinegar can encourage genital warts to go away.

Consult your physician before using apple cider vinegar, or any other home remedy, to treat your genital warts.

Step 1

Wash your hands with soap and water. Then, cleanse your genital area with a mild soap. Pat your genital area dry with a towel. Avoid using a scrubbing motion to dry your skin, as this could cause irritation.

Step 2

Cut cotton pads to fit the approximate size of your genital warts outbreak. For example, if you have one or two small warts in close proximity, you may want to cut a cotton pad into four equal squares and use one of the squares later to cover that patch of warts.

Step 3

Apply apple cider vinegar to the cotton pads. Place the cotton pads over your genital warts.

Step 4

Secure the cotton pads in place with paper tape.

Step 5

Remove the cotton pads from your warts at least six hours after applying them. Many people choose to apply the cotton pads before going to sleep and then remove them after waking up in the morning.

Step 6

Treat your genital warts with apple cider vinegar daily until your warts disappear, which may require four to six weeks of treatment, according to "1001 Home Remedies & Natural Cures: From Your Kitchen and Garden."
