Dr. Peter Gott, author of the book "No Flour, No Sugar Diet" believes that foods that are laden with sugar and enriched flour contain unnecessary calories that offer little in the way of nutrients. Cutting them out of your diet completely can cause you to lose weight without an exercise plan, says Gott. While his ideas are hardly unprecedented--we've known for a long time that sugar isn't good for us--his diet book gives meal plans and advice for those striving to eat a sugarless diet to lose weight.
